The Mosaic Jumper is a celebration of nature at its best! It’s inspired by flower meadows that lay dormant in winter only to burst out in color with the arrival of Spring. With ALL of the colors and fun mosaic graphics, it’s the perfect garment to use up yarn in your stash and to experiment and have lots of fun with color. It’s a round yoke pullover with short rows at the back for a perfectly comfortable fit. It can be cropped or full length and has loose sleeves that puff slightly at the bottom.

Alternative Yarns

Any sport yarn or fingering/mohair combination will work, but here are some I would recommend based on weight and fiber content:

gauge

17 sts x 19 rows = 10 cm / 4in
In Single-Row Mosaic Crochet worked in rounds with a 4mm hook after blocking

Swatch Instructions

Use your gauge swatch to familiarize yourself with the technique following these kinds of charts (instructions included with charts). You can use any of the charts included in the pattern to obtain your gauge or work the Mo-Mo bag tutorial that I have included in my blog.

Be sure to block and check gauge before starting by making a big enough gauge swatch (at least 15 x 15 cm / 6 x 6 in).

Certain materials might sag, and fabric may extend too much with drape, so adjust hook size appropriately.

Always block your swatch for more accurate results.

Mosaic Jumper

by January Sajulga

Description

My first mosaic project. It took me longer to make because this one. I had different colour scheme at the start, but halfway to the yoke, the colours looked too “blended in” to me so I had to frog and rethink. I decided to use the Hogwarts house colours I was saving for a wrap. Since it was my first mosaic project, I struggled with frustration at the start. So I benched the project and did several other tops and cardi. When I went back to it, I was more determined and I started to enjoy doing it for some reason. I wore it on my first Knitting Stitching show here in Belfast and got lots of compliments.

Description

Started with size 4.5mm hook for yoke and size 2 but had to make adjustments and frogged half way to increase stitches to size 4 and hook size 5mm because it was too tight.

Mosaic/Lagom Zigzag

by Janine Teuscher

Description

So, I saw a knitted jumper that I loved, and I wanted to crochet something similar. I mulled it over for a while, drew up the zig zag pattern and used the basic yoke shape, stitch count and increases from the Mosaic jumper. Below the yoke is basically the repeat of 1 row dc, 1 row sc from the Lagom jumper. The yarn was not my first choice, but i was the only one that had the right colours.
